| Dear Parents: |
| 1. NO BULLY WEEK:
This week is full of events to focus on a safe
environment here at Nativity. On Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
Nicholas Carlisle
will present a NO BULLY workshop for the parents. Also the
students have a fabulous workshop being presented to them by Soul
Shoppe on Thursday. Each grade has done an awesome job on
decorating the classroom doors with themes such as honesty, cooperation
and caring. Please feel free to come in and see them. Our
awareness is a key component to helping our students show respect for
all. |
| 2.
FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE: Last chance to buy your
tickets! Be a part of this great tradition at Nativity
School! The dance will be on Friday, October 16th, from 6:30-8:30
p.m. in the Sobrato Pavilion. Great music and dance contests with
prizes! Dessert, fruit, and other refreshments will be
served. Tickets will be available at the door. |
| 3. PUMPKIN PATCH: Friday,
October 16th, is Pumpkin Patch Day at Nativity School.
Please remember to send $3.00 with your student to give to their
teacher by Thursday, the 15th, for a pumpkin and photograph. |
| 4. 7TH GRADE EVENING: On
Friday, November 13th, Saint Francis High School is hosting a 7th Grade
Evening. This exciting evening will give 7th graders and their
families an opportunity to meet our students, enjoy a meal, and
experience firsthand the school spirit at Saint Francis. At the
end of the program, families will have an opportunity to either join
the Rage Cage for their football game against Sacred Heart Cathedral
with
a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, OR you may opt to attend their Fall Drama
production
of "David and Lisa" taking
place in our new Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 7:00
p.m. They can accommodate the first 250 families. Please
RSVP
with Mr. Mike Speckman at mikespeckman@sfhs.com. We hope to see
you then. |

APPOINTMENTS, ABSENCES & LEAVE OF ABSENCE PROCEDURE: There
has been quite a bit of confusion regarding our procedures for the
above
so we thought a brief review would be helpful: - If your child has a dental/doctor appointment during the school hours and must leave, please send a note with the student either prior to or on the day of the appointment so the teacher has advance notice. Calling into the office on the day of the appointment only delays having your child ready and the teacher may not have time to put the homework assignment together. - Whenever your child is not coming to school due to illness or other reasons, you should call the office before 9:00 a.m. A phone call to the office must be made even though you may have spoken or emailed the teacher. - If you have prior knowledge of an upcoming absent day please send a note ahead of time with the student. This will save a phone call on the day of the absence. - Also, please note that whenever a student is taking a personal leave (missing 3 or more days of school for personal reasons - not an illness) a "leave of absence" form must be filled out and turned in to the office prior to the absence. This form is available in the school office or can be downloaded from our website. |

Mrs. Trelut
