ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
TECHNOLOGY
Technology with Purpose and Integrity
Nativity School uses technology to further learning, while also endeavoring to teach students responsible use of technology and how to safeguard themselves and others by being a good digital citizen.
Nativity School provides 1:1 iPads in kindergarten and 1st grade. Students in these grades use them to access online learning including Raz-kids, MathSeeds, Lexia, and MooseMath. In a typical day these younger students might use their iPad for no more than 30 minutes as they move through learning centers. Students also complete quarterly assessments through STAR Renaissance on the iPads.
Each student in grades 2 through 8 has access to a Chromebook. Students use these devices to access online curriculum including IXL (math) and Lexia (ELA), both of which provide tailored instruction at the student’s level. Students can also access the online components of various academic curricula. As students progress through Middle School they become conversant with the Google Suite, including accessing all lesson plans on Google Classroom. Teachers oversee their digital footprint through GoGuardian which gives them visibility into where our students are going online and how they are using technology.

The Department of Catholic Schools supports the integration of technology across the curriculum at all grade levels, fostering growth in digital literacy, critical thinking, creative publishing, effective communication, ethical use, and improved productivity.
