The Nativity library houses a comprehensive collection of books and learning resources to encourage a lifelong passion for reading, promote independent research, and advance literacies. Reading and storytelling increase creativity, imagination, language comprehension, and emotional development.
Our librarian collaborates with teachers, providing students with the books and resource materials they need both to support classroom learning and to encourage pleasure in reading.
The Teymourian Library collection is ever expanding with over 11,000 volumes currently available in a wide variety of genres. Grade appropriate titles covering a variety of interests are continually being added.
The library provides an engaging environment for individual and group work, a cozy area for casual reading, and open space for read-alouds and author visits. Special display areas invite exploration into a particular author, theme, or culture on a rotating basis.
Our Book Bag program for grades PS-1 allows students to take a piece of the library home with them. Each week, students are given six books for at-home leisure reading. This early encouragement to read both at school and at home provides the foundation needed for students to succeed both personally and professionally into the future.
Each class K-5 enjoys library time each week. Our Library is open daily during recess and lunch periods for all students. The option of working in the Teymourian Family Library on homework, projects, or reading is available through our Afterschool Program Monday through Friday throughout the school year..
Students have free access to World Book Online. For access, please email our Librarian Frances Pacheco at: fpacheco@nativityschool.com.
